Mataji Ceremony: Hosted by Orion’s Portal, Sat 26th Oct, 7-10pm, Hackney Wick
The intention of this evening will be around ‘connecting & or ‘reconnecting’ with Mataji, in a way that will allow your relationship with this plant to deepen and expand, further welcoming her potential as a spiritual aid & ally.
We will be developing this reconnection both collectively and personally through introspective and written enquiries, guided breathwork and meditation, activating and soothing channeled sounds & music, tuning into whats being felt and thought, group sharing/reasoning - all held under the guidance of Mataji.
We will be treating this as we would any plant medicine ceremony, with reverence and respect for the plant and for your inward journey. The ceremony itself will run from 7-10pm but you are welcome to stay longer after to relax and integrate your experience.
‘Mataji’ is the name we use when referring to Santa Maria being used in a sacramental way. It means ‘Respected Mother’ in Hindi.
We’ll be connecting to Mataji through the common inhalation method as we find this to be the most effective and efficient way to share and engage with this sacrament. The flowers used will be pure and organic of the highest quality. There will be an option to use a vaporiser for those who do not want to inhale smoke.
We use this name to not only show our reverence for this sacred plant medicine but also in recognition of the strong yin essence the spirit of the plant reflects to us.
