SOLD OUT: Plant Medicine Inspired Sound Journey With Conch O’Bar
Aho welcomes you to join Conch as he guides you on a sound journey heavily influenced and inspired by his personal exploration into the realm of Shamanic plant medicine. During many meetings with the spirits of various sacred teacher plants, what was most memorable to Conch, and a way that most of the teachings were translated to him, was through sounds and music.
Icaros, or medicine songs are often directly taught by the master plants to those wishing to learn them and can very often play a vital healing role in the ceremony. Conch considers his music to be a form of Icaro, yet whilst there is a strong traditional and shamanic element to Conch’s music the uniqueness of this sound journey lies in the electronic and modern approach that his music takes. He believes that medicine songs can be received and interpreted in any way that is most suitable for the receiver to understand and then share.
This sound journey will be held in sacred space allowing for the spirit of the master plants to come forth and share this experience with us. We will start with a guided meditation to help prepare ourselves to enter into a relaxed state before being completely submerged in sound. Some of the instruments used will include; gongs, handpan, drums, flutes, synthesizers and many more all in accompaniment of atmospheric electronic sound-scapes.
A mat, bolster and blanket will be provided, but please bring anything else that will further your comfort.
£22 in Advance, £25 on the door. To book your place go to www.aho.community.
Conch hosts solo musical meditations and sound journeys utilising a mix of traditional, acoustic and shamanic influences along with more modern, electric and futuristic soundscapes. He uses many different instruments from around the world and likes to think beyond the idea of what is usually expected at a sound bath. Conch also plays his music along side yoga classes, plant medicine ceremonies and group breathwork sessions. His main work lies in breathwork where he applies sound, vibration and music as a major part of his practice.
