Samhain Fire Ceremony. Fri 1st Nov. 7-10pm
Aho Brothers and Sisters. Join us as we mark the turning of the season with a fire ceremony at Berkeley Farm on the night of Samhain.
Samhain (pronounced sah-win), is a sabbat marking the end of the harvest season and the beginning of winter. The veil between worlds is at its thinnest and we begin our descent into the darkest part of the year. The theme of this sabbat in the Wheel of the Year involves honouring the cycle of death and rebirth, honouring nature and honouring those who have passed on.
Fires were traditionally lit at Samhain and it is thought that all other fires were extinguished and people lit their hearth fires from the new “pure” fire . There would be much symbology attached to this - to mark the passing into Winter, to burn the old away and welcome the new.
Hosted by Adalet Salaheddin, Daren Ellis and Renato Guerrero. We will offer our intentions and bring gratitude in sacred space to Grandfather Fire. With medicine song, celebration, drumming and chanting. If you have a drum or rattle, please bring them along.
