Inipi Sweatlodge Ceremony Weekend with Joseph Christlow. 17-19th April
Aho is honoured to announce a weekend of prayer and connection hosted by our dear brother, Joseph Cristlow on Berkeley Farm in Hainault, Essex. Attend the whole weekend or just come for the day Inipi and evening concert.
The Inípi ceremony is a purification ceremony of the lakota nation. Also referred to in these times as a sweatlodge that is guided with lakota songs and prayers. This ceremony is ancient and one of re-birth. Only those who walk the red road (chankuluta) spiritual path of the lakota can run this ceremony with the proper instructions and guidance of elders.
Joseph ‘Rising Sun’ Christlow who is running the ceremony has been on the hill for 4 years vision quest ceremony (Hamblechà yapí), he has been Sun dancing (chí wakan tree of life sun dance ceremony) for 11 years, he is a family man and a community leader. Choosing to direct his energy in these time to share these ancient practises with the people of his homeland.
Aho is excited to invite you join us on Berkeley Farm where we will share the The Inípi Ceremony in the lakota tradition and with Joe and his team. Attend the weekend arriving on Friday evening for the 1st Inípi on Saturday and the 2nd on Sunday. Enjoy an intimate fireside concert including cacao in Joe’s tipi on Saturday night with wholeswome meals included or alternatively attend the Inípi ceremonies on just Saturday or Sunday.
The location for the Sweat is Berkeley Farm, Manor Rd, Lambourne End in Hainault on the central line. Closest tube is Grange Hill or Hainault. The farm is set in beautiful acres of field, with horses and wild flowers. The farm is a rustic haven, just a few stops from the city. Parking onsite is available.
Friday 17th April - from 5pm to 6:30pm. 7pm - Meet in the tipi presentation to fire and each other, breathe journey, voice activation and song circle until 10pm
Saturday 18th April - Inípi (sweatlodge) ceremony 10am to 5pm. Intimate fireside concert in the tipi with Joe Christlow and friends sharing music and stories from 7pm into the night.
Sunday 19th April - Inipi (sweatlodge) ceremony 9am to 4pm. 4pm dinner and leave for 5pm.
Camping in your own tents and vans is included with exchange.
If you require a space to sleep you can reserve a space in the tipi for £20 a night extra paid in cash.
Mat, blanket and pillow can be provided.
Friday evening - soup provided.
Saturday and Sunday - light breakfast and wholesome evening meal. Teas and coffees available throughout the weekend with cacao available on Saturday evening to accompany the music.
