Sacred Fire Keeper Training, Overnight, Sat 20th Sept, 6pm-6am

£150.00Price

Aho is excited to announce an overnight experience where we will connect with and learn how to work with sacred fire on a personal and intimate level. If you are like me and have had a fascination with fire and drawn to it, this night is for you.

After years of making and holding the fire at events, festivals and ceremonies we at Aho have felt called to create a space where you can also build your confidence and techniques to be able to manage a sacred fire and deepen your connection with it.

Limited to only 6 participants we will enter into ceremony with grandfather fire, each being given time to manage and learn from what sacred fire has to teach us. First we will learn how to make fire without the use of modern tools, using a Bow Drill. Of all the friction - fire-starting methods, the bow drill is the most efficient and the easiest to master. This in itself is a rite of passage and initiation.

Held in sacred silence and in no particular order you will each have 1.5 hours throughout the night and be responsible for holding the sacred fire while the rest of us enter the dream state and sleep cosy around the fire. It's remarkable what happens when we are holding space for others and how your journey and teachings with sacred fire will unfold. We will select our wood, quantity and manage our allocated slot so that the fire maintains and continues and then waking and passing the fire onto another.

We close at 6am, sharing food and our experiences learnt throughout the night. Falling close to the Autumn Equinox, Sept 22nd marking the end of Summer and beginning of Autumn, this is an ideal time to sit with the fire and reflect on our lives and drop into deep prayer with great spirit, nature and the innate fire within all of us.

We feel, those that are called to this night will be able to go on and build your own relationship to working with sacred fire and join a community of fire keepers who support, build and share future sacred fires together.

Held by Daren Ellis and Dovydas Urbonas on Berkeley Farm. A beautiful private location surrounded by fields and nature just a few miles outside London. The closest station is Hainault on the central line. Parking if you drive is also available

No need to camp, we are sheltered by an open top maloca and contained in a ceremonial space. You just need a sleeping bag.

For those called by grandfather fire for this experience our Ayni (reciprocity) is just £150 which will cover the costs and exchange.

If you have any questions please email myself, darenellis@aho.community
